I saw "Flight 93" the other day. It's a good, apolitical flick, and I recommend it. It shows just how asleep and unprepared America was at the time.

At one point in the film, the military is desperetly trying to get the authority to shoot down airliners. SECONDS count here, with hijacked airliners heading twoard their targets at 500 mph. Only the President could give it. Although the film didn't do it, I had a mental split-screen running of the President struggling not to crap his pants while reading "My Pet Goat", KNOWING we were under attack.

Finally Cheney gave the authorization, but no fighters made it to the scenes in time in any of the cases anyway.

Our President "Didn't want to alarm the schoolchildren"!
