Has there been any indication anywhere they would be single core? I'm sure Charlie @ The Inquirer and many other sources would have made everyone aware of that fact if it were true. The 2MB Conroes have the same naming scheme (E6xxx) as the 4MB versions which would indicate they have the same number of cores. Intel uses T2xxx for Core Duo and T1xxx for Core Solo.

EDIT: saw your reg posts. Anything recent making that claim? Seems highly unlikely. No "Core2 Solo" brand has yet been announced by Intel.

If 65nm starts shipping in H206 (probably Q4), it will take 6-9 months before 65nm speeds exceed current 90nm speeds, if history is any guide. And by that time, the K8L should be launching.
