The other part of the value of collecting this information seems to be lost completely from everyone I read or heard. Collecting this data of real time transactions is occurring constantly and it occurs when man made and natural disruptions occur in power and communications utilities. So a record exists of the flow and eddies of communications and how the system responds. Having such a data base is priceless in all manner of creating and testing simulations of attacks and natural disasters and for planing where redundant infrastructure can be the most useful.
