I believe the response of Americans on flight 93 very likely put a kabash on any folks thinking of a regular hijack. The fact is not one cannot predict one can control many passengers with the old threats of do as you are told and you live. There now is always the possibility of revolt or a plain old panic attack.

I have a friend who works for NWA and I'm told that unlike the past they are to not allow anyone control of their aircraft, up to and including crashing it themselves if need be.
