Sam, I have no idea how long it takes to build storage. A lot of it is in abandoned salt caverns and I have no clue if there are any more of them available. It is also possible to make storage out of certain old gas fields if they have the right geology to make them impermeable and are the right size. But I agree with you, that if utilities can build them a hedge fund probably could also, except that construction and operation is not their thing. They are financial guys, not operations guys. Now Buffet might decide to go into that business, but again, it may not fit his business model either. Maybe T-Bone Pickens will do it.
