I finally trashed my dial-up connection last month and went to cable. My phone line was so bad many time when it was wet outside I couldn't connect for hours or even a few days at a time. Sometimes I would go for half a day or so and never connect at more that 5 kbs. When my dial-up was working the best it could I could download a megabyte of information in 6 minutes. Now I can download that in a couple of seconds. I think that a dsl connection is even better but it is not available here yet.

Since I don't need an extra phone just for the internet connection now it is actually cheaper overall than the dial-up was.
