If you are referring to Ontario Teachers pension fund...maybe they were selling their coal interests to trim down some of their 20 BILLION pension deficit... see pension questions ...here

osstf.on.ca

Note..."pensions are protected from inflation by up to 8 percent in any one year"

Like so many other large company pension plans (about 80 in Canada in serious trouble) they are not addressing deficits. Some pensioners think it is their "right" to have their pensions fully indexed to inflation resulting in a person retiring with a $40,000 pension, doubling it, and then taking in possibly $120,000 per year before they die. This will lead to disaster backed by government or not.The private pensions in Canada that are relatively sound, do not have full inflation protection, but occasional adjustments and at a small percentage of the inflation rate.

>>But steam coal is the best asset

I agree.

>>I was in N Georgia in the 1970's and about 1973 went wild over windmills. I was an early member of the AWEA and brother and I built several prototypes, one at least still sitting on a 60 foot tower and capable of operation, developing a special type of low speed alternator for the devices. My day job was engineer in industry but I still managed to waste lots of time on alternative energy. <grin>

Good for you. That is certainly our future. Here on Colo Front Range we get to see lots of windmills especially north off I 25 and in Wyoming...

Perhaps you can cook up something new, go public, and we will all invest <grin!>...
