Kerry is always a strong fighter. From the jungles of Nam to the jungles of DC. He has never given in to anyone, never given up on a fight, never shrank from facing even the biggest most powerful special interests in the world. He also never lost a debate. And in 2004 it may be he was cheated out the election, beyond anything the smearvets may have done.

Assuming Kerry runs expect his #1 issue to be taking on Big Oil and re-regulating energy, then getting off off oil within 15 years. Talki about taking on a powerful special interest. But Kerry is not afraid of that fight and won't back down.

Remember also that in 2008, two new factors may be in play. Number one, the war in Iraq may be all but over. So Russ Feingold and the leftwing base lose their #1 issue, and Kerry will be instrumental in ending that war and caring for the homecoming vets. Nobody is stronger on veterans rights than Kerry. Number two, the GOP may be so battered than any major centrist Democratic candidate can beat them.

Then there is the McCain factor. If McCain is the nominee, who can best beat him? Don't know yet because we don't know enough about Mark Warner, but Kerry is right up there.
Also, Gore is probably not running and who knows, Hillary might not even run.
