Chávez is a Threat Because He Offers the Alternative of a Decent Society

......and, according to Greg Palast, because he's not buying US treasuries with his petro dollars, ie not helping to finance the Busheviks tax cuts and foreign adventures. He's also withdrawing $20B of his $$ reserves from US banks.

In addition, Chavez is going to ask OPEC to declare that he has more oil reserves than Saudi Arabia, which he does(but it's the heavy crude kind). For OPEC to do so would be an earthquake in the oil world.

Cheeky, to say the least.
