Going with a group certainly adds to the pleasure.

Well, we live close to a port city (Ft. Lauderdale) so cruises are pretty inexpensive if staying in the Carribean. Initially I too was opposed to them, but truth is I have now been on two, enjoyed them both and feel I got good value for my $$.

Sneaky lawyer trick warning...

Take a good look at your cruise contract. It will have a forum selection clause in it, saying that if you are injured or have any sort of claim, it has to be brought in the jurisdiction of the cruise line's choosing.

The father of a friend of mine who lived on the E. Coast was injured on a Holland America cruise in the Carribean had to sue in Seattle (home to Holland America).

Many people who take cruises aren't aware of this.
