There's another factor that affects bookmark count he conveniently ignores. If you have Advanced Search and you want to be able to search a particular thread, YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT BOOKMARKED. Three uarters of his bookmarks could be from people that totally disagree with his silly thread and bookmark only to find the guffaws on it.

Willingness to look reality and history eight in the eye and not blink does. Communism - the left wing ideal - has been a total economic failure. Even the Communists have given up. And that doesn't even begin to take into account its cost in human liberty and lives. If people would really try to explain where they are coming from in terms of their beliefs I think I would better understand why they believe as they do. Simple. Greed (there are softer erms for willingness to work for your own improvement and wealth, but that will do) is a BASIC human emotion. All the laws in the world WILL NOT change that. What capitalism has done is find a way of harnessing human greed so its results improve the common lot. Bill Gates din't start Microsoft to give you a cheap machine to access the interbet; he did it to get RICH. And he succeeded. The same is true of the two Intel founders, Gordon Moore and Andy Grove. He let his advisors talk him into a disaster. His father was smarter. He avoided this trap. Some loss of personal liberty and growth of gov't power was inevitable after 911. The response to that was going to have to be war. The Taliban WAS given an alternative- -hand over OBL- -but predictably refused. An invasion followed. Loss of personal linerty is cost of most of our wars. The trick is to get the lost liberties back after the war. I was for balanced budget and discretionary spending... Regadless of their intentions, that's what they got. This is an inevitable result of the growth of gov't power. You REALLY think Kerry would have been better? We were talking to the Japanese at the time they bombed Pearl Harbor. You think talking to the Taliban would have prevented 911? Really? Gore would have had to be woken up and then the significance of 911 explained to him. Kerry simply would have surrendered to the Taliban. No thanks. You are NOT the judge of the meaning of the Consitution. The USSC and lower courts are. They have decided the actions are legal. Like it or not, that makes them legal.
