Actually, I made the decision before the 65nm info, on the basis of NGA data & related Intel public claims, and timid comments from AMD execs regarding their competitive position vs. Intel NGA. The 65nm info, if true, does help explain the timidity. And as I said earlier, "a good deal better" would still be unacceptably behind. AMD needs either 3.2-3.4GHz K8 parts (like mas was hoping for with 65nm), or a better design (K8L) ASAP after NGA launches.
