Yes, Doug, maybe that 35w estimate from 9 months ago is as accurate as this one, in the same article: Merom cores will be faster than Opteron+'s in int, but lose a little to them in FP.

Also it specifically says that the 35w estimate was for "low 2 GHz" parts. Hey, wait a minute, Turion X2's are "low 2 GHz" parts also and have the same TDP estimate, but that estimate is one month from release, not 9 months. And Merom TDP doesn't include the MTH hub.

And, by the way, Intel claimed that Merom would be RELEASED in August, not September. Has there been a slip? The normal definition of "release" is that some products have been shipped to OEMs before the release, not a month after. On April 27, Otellini used the word "release" for all three.
