Newt lied saying what Bush is doing is "totally legal". It's not even partly legal. You won't find a single non-partisan legal scholar in the country who agrees with newt on that.
In fact when he was in congress Gingrich had a hissy fit over Clinton's roving wiretaps. Joe Scarborough was discussing that last night. Oh, the hypocrisy.

It's specifically written in the law that FISA warrants are required for all such domestic eavsdropping. That's the cornerstone of our law regarding such matters. Arlen Specter has said that too and he's probably the most educated legal expert in the GOP, as well as a no BS person who unlike Newt is not trying to run for office and pander to the far right.
