Kerry did not have the power to stop Bush from waging his war. He only had the power to warn him to hold to his promises, which of course Bush broke. Also, since then we have found out that the Iraq WMD intel given congress and the senate through crony Pat Roberts was whitewashed of all the most recent credible data (which said saddam had little or no WMD) and was chockful of Curveball type BS about imaginary huge stockpiles. Bush-CHeney even managed to get the Ny Times to publish BS stories about WMD, so they seemed pretty credible at that point. Kerry has already admitted he made a mistake ever trusting Bush-Cheney.
