I have used the word disinflation plenty of times here and on on my blogs. Are you confusing disinflation with "stagflation". If I beat you up over disinflation I certainly apologize. Hell even stagflation is a term but it does not really fit into the pattern of
inflation
hyperinflation
disinflation
deflation

Stagflation does not seem like flation at all and does not seem (to me) to fit into the series. As best as I can tell the definition does not have to do with expansion of money supply/credit but rather rising interest rates and stagnant economic growth. Of course said Humpty Dumpty I can make any word mean what I want.

As for gold, I missed the last $100 (piss poor trading I might add) or so as I believe did Russ and probably quite a few others. I have been and still am short homebuilders, QQQQ, and long corn.

It is conceivable to me that copper gives back 100% of this move up and gold much of it. I guess we will see. I have had several nasty experiences with parabolic commodity charts and I did not trust the one that kept running. ng
