No, Clinton forced the GOP congress to accept his balanced budget terms, including some tax hikes, and Dick Armey protested that he would take no responsibility for it. He predicted that it would lead to a Great depression. Instead we got the best economy of our lifetimes (unless you're a gas gouger during the Bush admin) and it was not only all paid for but gave us fat surpluses which Bush has totally squandered.

Since Bush and the GOP have been in charge they have amassed about 4 trillion in new deficits and are trying to make it even worse.

>>>It was the Republican Congress that cut spending and waste and balanced the budget.<<<

Why not be fair here. It was Clintion working with the Congress that accomplished the budgets that brought forth a surplus government. And I remind you that Congress didn't make the executive appointments for governance. Clinton did!

What Bush has today is a rubber stamp/rubber duck Congress for his and Cheney's ineffectual and painful policies. With two wars--each supposedly done--still in process and with threats against Iran in the mill (not to mention North Korea and what if China invades Tawain) why is he cutting taxes virtually all for the rich? No American president has cut taxes during time of war.
