We AGREE on something....Well...love a duck, let me rethink my position...;>) asked local citizens across the country to call the local police and report any local employers they knew of illegally employing illegal immigrants.....We're walking a fairly thin line there, Chris. Sounds a little too much like 1930's Germany to me. I don't particularly like the idea of needing to be prepared to prove my citizenship on demand, either. But there has to be a way to verify the status of those hired in this country. There is no way small family farms can afford to do serious background checks on temporary laborers to pick blueberries for two weeks. More permanent positions and hires should have a higher standard of proof. No easy fix for this...it's going to take considerable more will than has been present for generations.
