McCarthy was a truly evil un-American. Truly evil. He definitely wanted the US to be a rightwing military-dictatorship. Anyone liberal or for worker's rights he accused of being a "communist" and he would go to any lengths to lie and fabricate imaginary sins and threats. His whole evil act became a big lie and a parasite sucking the life out of our democracy. Thank God he finally self-detruscted. I hope he found a very hot place in hell. Bobby Kennedy hated McCarthy once he turned into a persecuting, dishonest, rightwing extremist. It's true, as a child Bobby Kennedy might have known McCarthy as a sane man, and a democrat to boot, friends of his father, but McCarthy changed drastically. He turned into a monster. As an adult, Bobby Kennedy stood up to McCarthy and Hoover both and wanted to oust Hoover. Which was probably why he was murdered. Hoover (a main McCarthy ally) likely played a key role in the assassinations of both Kennedys and Martin Luther King. We can never go back to those dark days again. They really were political evil incarnate.
