They were the only game in town for GOOD integrated graphics. SiS and VIA were around also.

You are right. I almost forgot about them.

NVIDIA's integrated graphics haven't exactly become an overnight success in mobiles. It is a shame they didn't offer support earlier because I feel earlier support from NVIDIA would have helped AMD's mobile market share grow even faster.

HP lost a good chunk of business to ATI while nVidia lacked integrated video. HP used ATI in a lot of products. But HP seems to be going back to nVidia in the current retail models.

As far as mobile, I don't know how well nVidia can do there in the short term. Their 6150 chip is a little hot to touch when running with passive heatsink. nVidia needs to move the integrated graphics to the same same design process technology their latest 79xx are on.
