I am always put off when someone in a powerful position appears on camera to advocate a position and really doesn't seem to be interested. If they don't like being the center of attention a few hundred tims a year they should find a new profession.

One thing Bush did from the start which I hate - speaking before groups and having people stand behind him. It's supposed to make him look more in touch with the group he is visiting, but it makes for very bad TV. Busy backdrops are a no-no, and look contrived.

I remember when Clinton visited Senegal in 1997 and they used the ocean as a backdrop for his speech. The shimmering waves made me seasick just watching.
