I personally can not confirm that from what I know about dogs. They scratch an itch of course, but does that demonstrate they are aware of their individuality or their own personality? There may be a test that demonstrates how a dog is self aware but I haven't heard about it. So I am not confirming nor denying your claim to know about dog self awareness. It certainly does not avail itself to the evidence I provided for human self awareness.

Odd to me how you can find the overwhelming evidence for human self awareness to be suspect but have no problem making such a claim for another species.
