btu beats cnx by a little...
but cnx owns 80% of huge natural gas company..1 tcf of reserves?

i wonder if a lot of coal reserves were written off due to years of low prices and can now be re-instated as reserves?
or were they sold off at cheap prices?

seems like number of coal companies is limited compared to oil and gas companies, so makes sense that the big ones would have the financial strength and expertise to also increase reserves rather than new companies entering the field?
