The Oil Age Poster

A Brilliant Tool for Examining the Geologic Realities and Social Ramifications of the Modern World's Most Prized Resource

"If a picture is worth one thousand words, then The Oil Age Poster is worth one million words because people can not only see the oil production Hubbert's peaks in many countries and regions, but also read the facts proving that global peak oil is both inevitable and quite probably imminent."

- U.S. Congressman R. Bartlett

Drilling Gas Tanks Latest Means of Stealing Fuel

I'm definitely not at all surprised by that story.
With plastic gas tanks on so many vehicles, drilling a hole with a cordless drill
would just take a few seconds. There are plenty of small hose set-ups they
could use to remove the gas -- probably using something with one of those
in-line pumps powered by an electric drill to remove the gas quickly.
Probably not just "kids" doing it either.
A person could get quite a bit of gas from one of the larger pick-up trucks...
and yeah, for the owner, a new tank costs a helluva lot more than the
gas that was stolen from it.
Well, expect to see more of this kind of thing as gas prices rise
and more people start ripping other people off.
