17:36 AMAT Applied Materials earnings call summary (17.85 +0.15) -Update-

On the co's earning call, they guided Q3 orders up approximately 5% to 10% from Q2 levels; revs up approximately 5% to 10% from Q2 levels, or approximately $2.4-$2.5 bln vs Reuters Estimates of $2.35 bln; and EPS of $0.28 to $0.30 vs Reuters Estimates of $0.27, which includes an estimated $0.03 per share for equity-based compensation. Going forward, the co sees memory remaining strong and foundry expected to be up in Q3. During Q&A, co said you can assume customers are anxious at this point to get capacity online. Co suggests the environment is not crazy, but more rationale. Co noted there was quite a bit of 200mm particularly from southeast Asia and a bit in China. Co suggests the group overall should continue its strength in Q3. Co suggests it may even a stronger than it was in Q2. Lead times have not changed much, with co noting they have kept them pretty firm. Co thinks foundries have to come back in Q3 and notes there are some signs our there that may suggest this is happening. Co noted they are working to gain share in both Flash and DRAM. Co suggests they are gaining more in Flash today than in DRAM. The stock is trading at $17.21 in after hours.
