Applied Materials-AMAT solid Q2, good 07 industry outlook, reit Overweight- Lehman
The firm expects AMAT to outpace the semis equipment industry in 2007.

The firm is raising its 2006 estimate to $1.15 from $1.02, 2007 estimate to $1.35 from 95c and target to $23 from $21.

CFSB- "bottom line-we would be buyers under $18". while earnings for 2006 go from $1.02 to $1.05.

I looked at Merrill Lynch's (Brett Hodess) AMAT research report and was struck by two things. First, while the 2006 revenue forecast was raised after the call, the 2007 was left unchanged. Second, EPS forecasts for the rest of 2006 and 2007 look like $.30, $.33, $.34, $.37, $.25, $.19. So, there is an expectation of a big decrease in 2nd half 2007 earnings based on what?
