The NSA database program would seem to have limited value without access to ALL telephone call records.

It's important to distinguish between wiretapping and the call record database program. I object to wiretapping without a warrant. But the database thing - I don't really have an issue with it.

However, it's kind of odd seeing the President defending a program that the phone companies say doesn't exist. Perhaps the NSA spooks hacked the carrier's records without their knowledge?
