Seems like your math is out of synch but I'm not arguing this with you in detail. Okay, let's not use the full clock increase as performance, as that isn't fair, my bad: 2.333 / 2.0 = 1.1666, but let's say we only get a 10% perf boost out of that 16.6% clock increase, to be conservative. 1.1 * 1.2 gives a 32% increase. AMD will gain HUGE share Or will it just take share from the AMD SC Turion market? ------------- EDIT: And what does this suggest about Merom speeds needed to beat the top Turion X2? What percentage clock decrease can we use to end up with a perf decrease of 20%? more than 20%, let's be conservative and say 25%. .75 * 2.0 = 1.5GHz. Will a 1.5GHz Merom match a 2GHz Turion X2 in performance? It just may. Then what will AMD do?
