The White House may have told BellSouth and Verizon to simply lie, like the White House does, and that they could claim it's in the interest of national security so lying and breaking the law are just fine. In fact, they can use this excuse for ANYTHING including assassinations, fixing elections, stealing billions, letting in 10 million illegal aliens, anything they want. This is how dictatorships begin. However, the people are going to bounce these corrupt bastards fiercely.
