But is it worth it to pay $100 more for a 2.2GHz Turion X2 than a 2GHz Core Duo which would have equal performance and longer battery life?

Intel is releasing a 2.33GHz part on May 28.

I don't think it is a matter of pricing for AMD, but of power-speed bins, i.e. ability.
