I will not decide, whether this was/is a good action, but
I'm wondering WHY NOW? When I would! sell now 50% of my
holdings, I would expect DEEP discounts coming in the next
weeks. I have to ask, is this your estimate and when yes
WHY?

Well. It was not now. It was about 3 weeks ago. I posted here.

The issue was not why then or not. The issue was regardless of what we think- the market/street thinks like Doug.

With the drop of AMD from the low 40's to the low 30's and with me having more than 70%+ of my portfolio in AMD was just not sensible.

I sold to diversify- and to lock in the >100% gain in the stock before it rode back all the way to the teens :)

I was there all the way from the single digits to ~$98 all the way back to $3.xx (before the split) :)

Never again. I have enough that if the AMD game plays out the way we think it will- I will gain plenty. Plus I'm now diversified with internationl ETF's (IIF) and LLTC and SFUN and IRF and waiting for SPSN to be in the $15 range- all these have plenty of capacity to return AMD like returns but with less (overall) volatility for my portfolio.
