Re: Absolutely, for Windows Vista 64 compatability.

That's a laugh. Buy a Turion now so a year later you can finally get a 15% performance gain and finally catch up to Yonah's 32-bit apps. Oh, yeah and you have to spend $150+ for the Windows Vista upgrade and potentially spend hundreds or thousands more for the 64-bit versions of the 32-bit programs that run fine now. And don't forget that everyone will want DirectX 10 graphics with their Vista notebooks a year from now so whatever video card is in the Turion system will need to be upgraded too. If 64-bits is a must then DX10 will be too.

And let's see some more review before we accept this one. I doubt very much this is a production system that was tested. (CPU produced Feb. 4 or earlier.)

Yeah, who knows the extent of AMD's memory controller problems. For all we know they are sending out production Turion X2s with the old defective memory controllers. There certainly were no shortage of poor performing rev F CPUs floating around before launch. Best if you tell everyone to hold off on Turion X2 purchases until it can be determined whether every Turion X2 is going to perform so poorly. ;-)
