FDR did a fantastic job. Hoover did a poor job. The Great DEpression started three years before you claimed it did, in 1929 with the Great Crash of the stock market, caused 100% by the investor class who got way too greedy and went way too far, because of no regulation over their activities. It had nothing to do with taxes, tariffs or regulations.

Unregulated capitalism always leads to massive corruption and economic failure. Without exception. It's human nature to cheat if there are no laws or enforcement against it.

Nobody likes taxes, but balanced budgets are the only way to go, except for emergencies, because in the long run deficit financed economics like Bush's now are completely unsustainable. That'sm just common sense.
