Re: Regarding 65 watt Woodrest, that is certainly going to be a competitive part, keep in mind that the QC K8L will consume the same power as existing DC K8. QC Woodcrest will not; IIRC that part is not a true QC, but 2 DC chips glued together. If AMD can deliver K8L in Q1 the situation at Intel will not be getting better anytime soon...

The quad-core K8L launch may be closer to Q1 2008 than Q1 2007. AMD will probably start K8L on dual-cores rather than basing their first quad-core CPU on K8L. Reading back through the information Charlie @ Inquirer has about Deerhound (AMD's first QC CPU due next year), it may be based on K8 not K8L because Deerhound isn't expected to have Hypertransport 3.
