Mannie, Yes, that's a wonderful sculpture by Bill Reid. Here's more about it for anyone who is interested. eldrbarry.net Have you seen the Spirit of Haida Gwaii sculpture (Spirit Canoe) at the Vancouver airport -- also by Reid? The original plaster sculpture is here in Ottawa at the Canadian Museum of Civilization - this is a webpage about it. There's a bronze sculpture in Vancouver, and another like it at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC. civilisations.ca ~croc

mannilay- Do you know that piece? oh yes. i know it well and i agree, its extraordinarily beautiful. i have a book - 'the raven steals the light' (stories by bill reid and robert bringhurst illustrated by bill reid) amazon.com you would enjoy it. Took Yen on a nice little dinner scoot ride tonight....she bought....perfect evening. ha! she's a sweetheart. enjoy the scoot ride. hope the weather holds for you. it's been glorious here this past week ... shorts and t-shirt and lots of sun screen. we gathered another 1500 pounds of rock yesterday (1,575 actually). i'll post a picture of it for you someday. ride carefully - there are a lot of crazies out there. -zita
