If they allow the GSEs to default despite the implicit guarantee, we will see a run on the dollar and your 30% devaluation expectation will be far too low. I think this is highly unlikely as it would show total desperation by the Fed and the U.S. government making matters even worse as to the ROW it would look like the U.S. is defaulting on its debt.
