There is lots of evidence to support our premise on time and distance but nothing conclusive since we take for granted the infinity of the dimensions, which is not demonstrable.

At one level, everything is assumption. We don't really know with absolute certainty whether anything we observe is really what occurred. Our senses are flawed, our ability to measure is limited to our senses and any supplemental technology.

There are similarities between self-evident and conventional wisdom. What is self-evident is typically broadly accepted but unprovable. What is conventional wisdom is typically broadly accepted and can be shown to be true or false.
