New story is different than the intial story. Housing projects have a history of being the place where white folks come to buy drugs. If the cop profiled this white couple and figured that their request for directions was to cover up their druggie ways, she may very well have acted as she did, regardless of her color. Many ghetto dwellers hate the dealers but also hate what they see as the rich white customers who do drug drive bys in their neighborhoods. I think the failure of the couple to press charges is very telling.
