You're right, but what a thankless task! Whoever wins will be blamed for ALL the inevitable fallout from the chimpistration, as the various Bush chickens come home to roost. It just almost seems not worth it. If there was just some way that only the Bush supporters would have to pay the consequences..

re: Do the Dems REALLY WANT to have to wipe up all the sh*t smeared around during the Bush administration? Inherit the massive twin deficits, the war in Iraq, the worldwide scorn, hatred and disaffection?

Somebody has to do it... and I don't see any Reps that are ready to counter the Bush mistakes. Can you imagine a Rep coming in and raising taxes to decrease the deficit?

Yes, but don't you see.......its how the Dems and GOP get their reputations. The Dems are the bad guys because they have to raise taxes to pay for the deficits the GOP ran up by cutting taxes. Its probably been going on for decades this way.

Thus the urban myths........the GOP cuts taxes and is good with spending......they have to be good to provide so many gov't services on less revenue. And the Dems are the bastards who increase taxes and run up deficits with all their silly programs. God knows how long this scam has been going on and the lemming like American public has been eating it up hook, line and sinker.
