Thanks for posting that. A great read. Another clear indication that our government, at least high levels of it, knew a major attack was in the works and failed to properly warn or prepare us. 9/11 smells, if anyone can't smell the stench they must not be able to smell...

I have a hard time viewing Miller as anything other than a prevaricating traitor, but this quote caught my attention:

"The incident that had gotten everyone's attention was a conversation between two members of Al Qaida. And they had been talking to one another, supposedly expressing disappointment that the United States had not chosen to retaliate more seriously against what had happened to the Cole. And one Al Qaida operative was overheard saying to the other, 'Don't
worry; we're planning something so big now that the U.S. will have to respond."

The obvious question would be why in the name of all the gods in Southern California would al Qaida be disappointed in the absence of large scale retaliation against the Arab world? And, why in the absence of such retaliation would they purposely plot to escalate the certainty of a massive response?

IMO, the obvious answer is that while al Qaida could not possibly be motivated to initiate such repercussions, Israel certainly would.

As I recall, Clinton refused to endorse the notion al Qaida had anything to do with the Cole bombing. It was only after Bush took office that blame for the attack was attributed to Arabs.
