"the fact that it was a floorplan, not a die photo, suggests that the QC version, at least, has not taped out, doesn't it?"

No. This is the same type of reasoning that all Intel bulls use.

Assuming that they presented their latest information, and AMD always plays these things close to their chest, at most it means that first silicon hasn't come out at the time that slide was made. In no way, shape or form does it suggest they haven't taped out yet.

I doubt all the bad news from INTC is priced in. NGA info has helped, but the Netburst stuff will still stink up the I&E and Balance sheets for the next 4-9 months.

AMD is between the MA200 and MA50. Even if we rise to the MA50 only to fail again, that would be 5-8% from where we are now.

"Suggests not taped out". Yes it does suggest that, but not prove it. When did we first see a die photos of K8 and DC K8 in relation to tape-out and launch? I have no idea. Someone with a better archive might be able to answer this one.

If we don't have a better idea of plans and roadmap for the next 12 months, then AMD will become a much smaller piece of my portfolio very quickly. By then I ought to have a hands-on comparison between the dual core laptops (although one will be 64bit and the other will still be 32bit).
