You take the announcement of "4 Socket servers" in the Reg. as proof it is ONLY 4 socket for the foreseeable future and nothing else is coming.

You should keep your options open. DELL is.

Should be good for AMD stock and bad for INTC stock tomorrow. 4-socket only... why would AMD agree to that?

What, should AMD have refused to sell Dell 8xx chips? Dell wants them, and it (he) can have them, just like any other OEM. AMD happens to be the strongest, Intel the weakest here, and my guess is that Dell share of the 4 way market was heading to zero (with Paxville).
