The more interesting question is: Will the SEC investigate the massive buys of $35 calls (May and June) that occurred last week? Someone acted on this info ahead of time.

Probably Dell (the company)! They were known to play options on their own stock in the 90's. Made billions that way.

They would sell naked puts and buy call options on their own stock.

No link, but remember reading it somewhere.

The __really__ instresting question is: Why preannounce right before Woodcrest launch and when AMD's future roadmap was being cast in doubt?

If there was one sign that AMD's roadmap is in fine shape- was dell picking up AMD in the server line.

Boom! Happened with a preannouncement!

WHY??

Re: code words: "in our multi-processor servers "

Yes, I saw that, too.

The difference between us is that I take it as a beginning and potential for more later.

You know it is the end. "Why did AMD agree to that?"

I guess I'm not as smart as you.

Doug,

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the news. Maybe Michael Dell bought some.
