Doug, stop and think about this for a minute...what happened when HP started using AMD product...thye started making money...and ordered more AMD product...ya got to get them addicted first...:>) LOL

AMD should've tried to get some commercial desktop & notebook presence along with the 8xx parts, was my thinking there. I believe a few people here have previously posted that they were confident that Hector would never agree to only supply 8xx Opterons...

I don't think you are being realistic. Commercial is still the area AMD is trying to penetrate - with the most friendly partner - HP, and it has not been easy. If AMD relationship with Dell went beyond anybody's expectations, commercial market would be the last to penetrate.

Some 10,000 Opterons / Q are not enough leverage to make it happen
