we were using selective breeding thousands of years prior to anyone conceived of the theory of natural selection. Evolution is the way things are. You don't have to know it or understand it for it to work. It's not dependant on belief. It worked long before any lifeform was aware of it. Even if the whole world decided to not believe in it, the nature of life would still work that way, because it is independant of our knowledge, desires, or beliefs. People who's selective breeding just happened to coorespond with the way evolution really works were more successful than those who didn't. They didn't have to know why, they just were. TP
