The original intention with the establishment of The Shed was to allow for an open environment. It got side tracked a bit, but never that badly. SL is doing a good job, in keeping it open, even though SL sits mostly in The Bull Seat. The Shed is a place for all sorts of characters, w/o doubt. It is best that way, and it is best that it remains that way. The 'breadth' observed on The Shed can truly be phenomenal. The bulls on The Shed recently got quite boisterous, and pushed some of the intermediates and especially the bears out the back door. But me thinks some of those folk will return, as the bulls continue to get bloodied. Now ... why read and follow this? Sentiment maybe? The Shed always has an endless supply of wood, and in the end will give a temporary licking to anyone who gets too cocky. Imo.
