According to one of Charlie's articles at the Inquirer AMD started showing quad-core Opteron behind "very closed doors" last October. I wonder if that was a 90-nm version of K8L and I also wonder who AMD showed it to first.

These may well be plan A and plan B. Plan A may have been quad core Rev F, 90nm, plan B may have been Rev G (K8L?). Maybe plan B showed so much progress that Plan A was cancelled...
