Murtha speaks for the Pentagon and soldiers who can't stand Rumsfeld and Bush but cannot speak up without resigning their jobs. Polls are difficult to do in the active military, but it's very possible as many as 2/3rds of the active military have serious issues with Rumsfield-Bush-Cheney and do not support their "stay the course" "endless war" at all. After all the military are merely pawns in their game. And look who's making all the money, cheney's own company. Halliburton really gouges the taxpayers over there too.
