only a year before 9/11 the PNAC had expressed their desire for a “catastrophic and catalysing event - a new Pearl Harbor,”

Of course that is NOT what the document says, you lying pice of vermin.

You disgust me with your petty Bush hating nonsense. Go seek the psychiatric help you so desparately need you delusional nitwit.

This does beg the question: Could the US have invaded Iraq without having first invaded Afghanistan?

The GOPwinger thinking was that the emotion--both dometically and internationally--that carried the first war would carry over into the second. The second war, without any credible evidence for propagation, was more difficult which is why we saw so much fear--anthrax incidents, terror alerts, false witnessing and documentation, etc.--placed upon the people in the run-up to the war. They just barely made it, as Bush's support for the invasion of Iraq was slightly over 50 percent--a mark I personally believe they felt was necessary in order to carry out invading Iraq.

Again, could the US have invaded Iraq without having first invaded Afghanistan?
