IMHO, the last real watershed for Wintel users was Windows 95. Well OK, IE wasn't too bad back then, as well. But it's been downhill from there. It's just that the gradient was so gentle that no one noticed how far down things would roll. Until now. I wonder if BG realizes how low on the innovation ladder MSFT has sunk. (Not that it ever got very high to begin with.)

there also a case for blaming them for destroying an entire generation of computer-loving kids --- Computer science is way down among choices for high school and colleges. who would want to do software if you had to do it thru windows and its organization?
